Wiggly Tooth and Dancing Robots
Here was a random picture found on the camera. I guess Zane was very proud of his crumbling crackers into little mini muffin wrappers abilities!
*This video started out with Avery being jealous that Zane was getting more attention. She turned on Kidz Bop and jumped up beside Zane to sing Bieber's "Baby" while he robot danced around her. She got mad he kept blocking her view of the camera, yelled at him, and got sent to her room. Also edited out was Zane still dancing like a robot while singing Katy Perry's "California Girls" in a robot voice. Oh dear. I put off buying that CD for Avery for 2 years. I kinda wish I could take it back!

The Skins
Zane's cousin Levi who is 8 came over today and they were so funny to watch.
L: I like scary movies, can we watch one?
Z: Well, I don't like scary movies but I guess we could watch The Grinch...
L: I want to see Piranha or Paranormal Activity!
Z: Oh, what about Cat in the Hat!!?
haha
I then remembered baseball!!

Bringing in the New Year Beyonce style...
Friday morning was all about being lazy. We went to breakfast at IHOP around 11:00! After dropping off Avery's friend that afternoon, I got a call that Wes was offered Thunder tickets for the New Years Eve game!
Here we are on the fifth row chillin in $250 seats (right in front of Kevin Ogle). I cannot imagine spending this times 4 for our family to see a game. So glad they were free!
I took a pic of Avery because it cracks me up at how much stuff she sleeps with. I will find barbies and cups under her blanket. That can't be comfortable?!?

Just some things I don't want to forget...
Zane has gotten pretty good at not answering questions when confronted. He will try and beat around the bush or say “I dunno...” Squeezing toothpaste all over the bathroom is not something you forget, so Wes and I will say “Yes or No?” and make him fess up. The other day, Zane asked me if I could get him a pillow pet and followed it by…“Yes or Yes sir?” Ha. Good try buddy. I think Santa will fall for your desperate pleadings though.
Speaking of those desperate pleadings…I told Zane we weren’t buying a pillow pet, but we can ask Santa for it. He responds…“You said that last time and Santa didn’t bring it. He never ever will. Everyone has a pillow pet…Jaxon, Ryan, Austen…everyone in the whole entire world but me.” I almost felt sorry for him…
Zane is very good at catching me when I’m losing patience and when I start saying “Shush” or “get out/go away/leave me alone” etc. He will say “mommy, you shouldn’t say that. Its not nice...” I really want to tell him “It’s not nice to annoy your mom either…” but I look at his innocent, sad, so dang cute little face, that I just have to hug him instead. It helps when his hugs are followed by “You’re the best mommy ever!” or "I love you the most...well not more than God though...!"
He is very good at thinking of other people. He drew pictures the other day and put them in envelopes. He asked me who’s mailboxes we should put them in. He was very excited. I need to provide more opportunities for him to get to follow through on his ideas and actually get to see people’s reactions, hugs, and thank you’s for the things he thinks of.
Dear Zane, You definitely like to push buttons and you never run low on “whine,” but you are so sweet, love learning, love helping, love giving, and love hugging. You are my little buddy and I love you very much!
Avery
Avery is the total opposite of me right now. I loved all sports and have been looking forward to watching her love it as much as I do, but his kid doesn’t want to do anything!
She has never cared about soccer; I’ve just bribed her to play. She is one that needs some confidence, and I thought she’d enjoy it after she understood how to play and got better. I’ve never pushed her to practice, just wanted her to have fun. 4 seasons later, she is still not wanting to do it. I'm done bribing.
She really liked hip hop jazz this summer, but no longer wants to go every week anymore. I told her I wasn’t going to pay if she wasn’t going to go. She said OK, she doesn’t want to do it…We dropped out.
She always loved gymnastics and I thought that was her thing. She was the most confident in it, but she told me last week she only wants to do it if she’s in her friend’s class. I tried to remind her how much she loved learning routines and going to little competitions (because she really did!) but she said “Well, I just like doing it at home and making up my own routines now...” If she wants to go down to a rec. class with a friend, I guess we'll do that. It's better than totally quitting.
After all these convo's I realized sports may not be her thing (Yes. I'm slow!). I ask her, Would you like to learn how to play the piano? “No, I already do that at GG’s.” Well, yes, but this way you can learn how to play actual songs!? “I just like making up my own songs…”
You love art! Would you like to take art lessons and paint? “I would like to paint, but I don’t want someone to tell me how to do it because I already know how…”
Hmm. She likes doing things, just doesn’t like people telling her what to do!? Maybe she’ll gain interest as she grows. I just want to get her (me) out of the house occasionally-get to know other girls, have fun, and gain confidence in herself and her abilities. Maybe she just wants to get better at painting fingernails at home... I think I can handle that...
Dear Avery, you have so much spunk with natural talent in so many areas. You are a big helper, love babysitting, and obey very well. I can't wait to find out what else you really love to do. I hope I will notice it, if it is something I'm not expecting. I love you my little sweet angel.

Random Thoughts Thursday
space
Then Zane piped in and said "I don't care about cleaning my room...I just care about God." HAHAHA. While that is so sweet...it also called for a "calm down with the brainwashing Wes..." :) space
I'm not sure where this came from. Probably the girls my poor Zane has to play with everyday!! But he's been saying "See look Avery, I officially love this..." "Officially" is the new "totally" and I'm so glad Zane has that figured out!

Tur's Favorite Things...
The past week, Avery and the neighbor girls have gotten together with their collections to play with and trade...Have I mentioned I have never bought her any!?!My last favorite thing, is seeing my kids conquer their fears and gain confidence. In reading, sports, and anything else. We haven't been in gymnastics the last few months, so yesterday we decided to practice a little. Avery got over her fear, and can do a back bend now without me close to her! She now LOVES doing them and is so excited to show everyone. My chip was full so it cut off, but oh well.

We've Hit A Milestone...
Yesterday, she was playing outside with a neighbor a couple of years older than her and she comes in and says "I know how to ride a bike now!" I guess she does much better with 8 year old instructions. She felt no pressure, she was able to keep her cool and just keep trying again. Each time she gained a little more confidence which gave her the drive to continue. I then came out and helped her a little more, and she mastered it. She can now even start off by herself. She loves it and wants to ride her bike all day long now. If the girl would just stay calm and have a little confidence, she could do anything she wants to do.

Randomness
I have been told only half of this post shows up. I am not sure why it isn't working. It's showing up when I use firefox but isn't when I use internet explorer. Maybe me editing it right now will make it work? If not...let me tell you...you arent missing anything! Kinda like the rest of my blog...
First I will start with my kids:
We went out to eat and Zane asks the waiter, "Do you do things God's Way or Your Way?!" It's been a month since VBS, but it lives on! He would also ask each time he walked by, "Is my food ready yet." "I'm still hungry..." "I. Want. My. Food."
I asked Avery how babies were made. She said "God uses magic...magical stuff?"
Zane drew a picture of a person today and I asked him what one part was...he said that's his conbelican cord and he's sad because the doctor's just cut it....
We just broke the news to Avery that cutting babies out of the tummy is not the only way. She was VERY concerned and asked "How does it come out down there??? How big does it get??" After showing her the size of only about a 1 pound baby...she said even more concerned "That is STILL really big???????" Oh dear. We moved on...
Now on to these questions going all around the blog world....
1. How often do you go over the speed limit? I use my cruise control ALWAYS and I set it at five over.
2. Do you dance like crazy when no one is looking? I will dance like crazy when people are watching if i'm in the mood! Usually when people aren't looking, I'm just laying down though.
3. If you were going to be stuck on a desert island, which book, movie, and CD would you take? Bible, Natalie Grant's Relentless, and I may need Dumb and Dumber in a desert island.
4. What did you get in trouble for as a kid? Pushing buttons and having the same personality as my mom!?
5. What really gives you the creeps? I second the pedophiles and spiders.
6. What was your favorite toy when you were a kid? I can not remember playing with toys?! I liked to draw though.
7. You run into a friend while shopping. Where were you? Can Starbucks be considered shopping?
8. When you fall asleep are you usually on your side, stomach, or back? I have to roll all over the place.
9. If fat or calorie intake weren't an issue, what food would you consume the most? It being an "issue" doesn't keep me away from my daily ice cream!! I mighy go back to eating Crisp N Tasty pizza everyday if I didn't know it'd kill me. That was my favorite growing up!
10. If you could hire one of the following, which would it be: Driver, chef, maid, stylist? Maid of course.
11. What movie have you watched the most? Probably Dumb and Dumber.
12. What perfume do you wear? I do not wear anything other than deodorant. I am all things opposite of the girls on perfume commercials. (2 days after posting this I was given Faith Hill perfume and have been wearing).
13. What was your favorite sitcom growing up? I liked Little House on the Prairie, Full House, and TFIG.
14. What were you doing the last time you had a really good laugh? Oh dear. After finishing the Story of Me book with Av, she wanted me to go through page by page and ask her a question to see if she remembered it. I asked "What is a girls.... called?" She said..."Oh I know this. Ummm...ummm....I think it's something Mexican?" What?!?!? Haha.
15. What was the very first concert I ever attended? I do not remember? I haven't been to very many.
16. Who is the 4th person on your missed call list? Brittany
17. How long does it take you to get ready in the morning? Most of the time 7 minutes. Enough time to shower and throw comfy clothes on. If i'm going to church and need to shower, do hair, makeup, and find something halfway decent...30 minutes.
18. When is the last time you went to the mall and what did you buy? When we had a girls night a couple of weeks before our Cancun trip. I bought a swim suit.
19. Ever go to camp? Yes love camp! Osage Christian Camp, Burnt Cabin, and Zenith at York and OC. I think that's it? Maybe more.
20. Do you collect anything? I used to collect stamps and cool rocks but now I just collect piles of laundry.

It's Things Said Thursday
Z: I wish I could go to jail....
Me: Uh...why would you want to go there?
Z: Because I'm a good fighter!
(What???!?!!)
Britt: Zane, come drink your milk
Z: My brain had enough milk already
Britt: Zane, can you clean your room for me so then I can clean it?
Z: Hmm...Can I clean my room? No thank you.
Z: You know why I'm frustrated?
Me: Why?
Z: Because I don't want to take a nap and so I'm frustrated...
Me: Oh man (using my good sympathy skills). Well your brain will grow and be happy so just think about that instead!
Me: OMG...I just bought The God's Design For Sex book series. It was clearly time to snap out of denial...
You all: It's not as scary as it seems and your children will be perfect angels after reading this book to them. :)
Me: Ok. I think I can handle being a mom.....

Random Things Kids Have Said Thursday
Av: "Can I have pudding AND skittles for my after nap treat?"
Z: "Avery, you are going to get diabetes if you eat too much sugar..."
Haha...that would be Wes and his scare tactics...
Z: "Can we eat at Old McDonalds?"
Me: "No, we just had that two days ago."
Lily: "Yea and you are only supposed to eat McDonalds like once a year."
Me: "You guys only eat there once a year?!?!"
Lily: "Well, maybe like once a month....or twice a month....two or three times a month."
Haha...
Av: "Jaxon said his mommy doesn't pull down his chronicles"
Me: "What is that?"
Av: "The things you pull down on my nails..."
Me: "Oh, cuticles!"
Av: "Yea. His mommy doesn't pull his down...they are going to get stuck and grow over his nails..."
Me: I think I said "Hey, I love this song....can you guys hear it?!?!" While blasting Klove on the radio!! Does anyone else go crazy when cuticles aren't pushed down?!?
