June Art Day

With the craziness of summertime upon us, it was a very small group today! We colored flags and blew paint through a straw to make fireworks! The paper has plenty of space to add some more fireworks at home too!!! It can get tiring blowing and blowing!
Snack was all about red white and blue too! White milk and banana's, blueberries, and strawberry yogurt!!! They were actually very yummy and the kids drank them up with no problem!

We then had story time and read about our American flag, the Declaration of Independence from Great Britain, along with the star spangled banner. Because so many people fought for freedom...we also talked very briefly about recycling...a way for us to give back and help protect the earth!

Of course it was dress up time next since there were no boys this month! Zane is excited to show off his new garage sale trains!!

I DID WHAT???

I used my sewing machine!!!! Yes, I decided to whip out the ole thing today. I've been scared to try anything after a frustrating experience a while back. Thanks to a fellow blogger, I thought I could surely make this bandana dress. If I couldn't, I would give away my sewing machine and give up forever.

So this was the first one...yes, she must have accessories when modeling! Here it is stiff and a little bigger...
Now it's been washed and dried with little leggings!
This was the next one, I was very suprised they really did just take about 15 minutes! I thought I'd try a little belt with it, but it kinda looks like a toga? I need to get her some brown little leggings.

After those being fairly successful, I decided to try this for the first time. Very hard and time consuming but I really can't believe it actually turned out wearable.

I hope I haven't started a new addiction....I really need to clean my house!! :)

I couldn't fall asleep at 10:30 last night, so I whipped another one out (but waited for the morning to have it modeled!). If only I would have made the bow also...In case you were really worried about my unclean house, pondering whether or not you should turn me in...i've done 2 loads of laundry and unloaded/loaded the dishwater!!!

My Little 3 Year Old!

Here I am thrilled with being pregnant with you, Mr. Zane! The picture make it hard to see, but there is definitely a 6 inch bruise on my arm where they tried to put the first PICC line in, ripping my vein. Try number 2 was a success as you can see on the other arm. The backback that carried IV fluids, vitamins, and nausea medicine was VERY heavy! But I guess you were worth it- so stinkin cute!I don't think I have seen such a cuter alien before...You filled out after a little while and was always so smiley- 6 months old!At 9.5 months old...you started walking! We had your first birthday at McDonalds!

Your first year picturesYou have always loved making messes!18 months old - knowing all of your body parts and animal noises! You completely mastered the lip...Your big 2 year old birthday party which consisted of...
shucking corn while adults worked on building a fish pond!Right after your birthday, you decided you wanted to wear big boy underwear!!Here you are at 2.5 years! So fun and animated
Getting sooo good at staying in the lines and drawing little faces.
Now you are 3 and boy did it go by fast.
We love you! Stay sweet forever please!

1st Dentist Appointment

She was pretty nervous at first...The least scariest thing is the best place to start. Shooting air on hand.
Water in mouth. Before Avery did this, she made the lady do it first and kept asking what it tasted like and if it was just normal water!
Little scared about having purple teeth. Afraid she would always look like this!
This is how good she brushes her teeth! We actually didn't brush our teeth before coming...oops!
This took a while to accomplish...but she did it!
Didn't like flouride too much.
Freaked out about the sharp tools! He wasn't able to do anything except touch one tooth and asked if it hurt!? It didn't of course so hopefully next time we'll be able to get xrays and do a little more!
Zane got to take a ride in the chair! He was very good and stayed on my laugh singing Joshua fought the battle of Jericho!
Much more successful than I thought it would be!

Old camera vs. Newer camera

These are terrible pictures because they were taken with our old back up camera...but it is from Zane's first day of gymnastics a couple of weeks ago. He did such a good job listening and not running away!! It is almost like heaven in the waiting room now. I think I almost heard angels sing when I was doing nothing but halfway sleeping in the chairs. I just may get some reading done these days! Oh, not sure what Avery is doing. I think trying to get him to look at me since she saw me?!So cute! Now that we got our camera back, we took turns taking pictures. Yes, we went to hobby lobby to get 40% off unfinished wood!! Anyway, It's Zanes turn... Now its Avery's turn
About an hour after this...it became my turn...any little boys want to come over and play trains or tball with Zane!!?

Wes found the Camera!

So this is a little late but Saturday June 6th, we went to Red Earth. I had never been before so I was excited to see what it was like.
Here are the kids stringing beads...
And coloring.

Look at the huge cool Teepee!!

It was then time for the Grand Entry. It was neat seeing all of the different costumes but I wish I would have known what tribe they each were when they came out. Each tribe dresses in different styles. I am going to sound terribly ignorant to the informed American Indian's...but these girls have "tassle-like dresses"And these had "metal tassle-like dresses" that jingled! I am not sure how I would feel about putting an "animal of some sort" on my head...I wonder how heavy "those things" are?!

All in all. It was neat. Glad I went. Next time, I promise to learn more :)
