As soon as I heard Jessica's idea of wanting to start this in OKC, I told her I'd be in. Of course, not to expect much production on my part, but effort none the less. I have completed 2 scarves and have a goal of one a month! We meet once a month to crochet together, if you'd like to join in on the fun. I think we should make carrying around a big crocheting bag and pulling out our work in progress while we wait in line at Wal-mart, the new fashion trend. Anyone with me?

Anyone is welcome to knit or crochet a scarf which in turn will be given to a victim of sexual abuse through the local YWCA. The gift of a scarf shows our concern and sorrow for what has happened to the victim. The scarves are tangible objects that can be held or wrapped around the neck, with the deeper meaning known only by the wearer. If you would like to contribute a scarf or yarn, please do!

Random Photo's Thursday

I just realized I never posted about Valentine's Day. This was always my dad's holiday. He got us the cards and candy and it was sitting out ready for us at Breakfast time. Good thing he also does it for our kid's because we got them zippo. I guess we figure if you can't beat this why do anything? Honestly, we just plum forgot. I have failed you dad. Actually, Wes has!

Oh how lovely school pictures are. She put her hair behind her ears, pushed her hat up really high and gave us the best fake smile you could ask for... Would this be good for my Tur-bus Childcare flyer? Hop on in kid's, it may be a bumpy ride...

Funny timing with this outfit she chose for church yesterday. She usually does very well in this category but some days she enjoys looking as though we go shopping out of lost and found boxes.

Its been a long time since I've given an update on our playroom. Gotta love picking up laminate floor by the side of the road. Just barely enough to fill our room. So ready for it to be done!

It's been pretty crazy

This week has flown by. I'm not ready for it to be Monday yet. I have been pretty busy painting these letters for my older sister's baby that is coming soon.I was also inspired to upcycle some clothes I had in a giveaway tub. These pants received some nasty stains on the knees but I loved thepicture at the bottom...So I did this to it...I then decided it needed one more ruffle on the skirt to tie in the shirt better...When I put the whole outfit together on a three year old that will remain nameless as to protect their dignity...I decided I don't like it. Not at all. Not even sure why.

So, I decided I'd go for something a little easier. I went with this little skirt since Wes has several t-shirts he never wears. Don't tell him I cut it up, and I'm sure he'll never realize. I was going to add ruffles like the one in the tutorial but decided I like it plain for now. She has several skirts with ruffles anyway. The coloring is wierd, but its a deep pretty purple and matches the shirt perfectly!

Thursday was a crazy day. It was so nice so we went to the park where Austen decided to do a front flip down the slide and landed face first in the wood chips...

Miss R also tripped and fell on the park sidewalk and scraped her little upper lip. Rough day. To make it even better, Austen started throwing up that night, then Avery, then me, and then J. I'm going to be busting out the hand sanitizer on these rugrats every five minutes from now on. They all got over it by Friday morning but not me. I went to the Dr that morning, the ER that night, and stayed in bed weak all Saturday. I'm back to normal finally.

This week, Zane decided cutting his hair is super fun. It has been pretty unnoticeable until this last time. It's hard to see in this picture, but its a nice size chunk right in the front.

Similar to second born children...

Second go round of valentines definitely get the shaft. Melting another 300 crayons to make 21 valentines for Avery just wasn't going to happen. We used some of hers from last year as well as some of Zanes. I caved and bought candy and still didn't feel like looking for or buying clear tape...She has been wearing her valentine's outfits every week for the past month. I think her and I both were getting sick of seeing it. So we went with something else for her party...
Here is Zane at his party yesterday!! Look at how well I've trained my little rascals (you can't see J and R but they are there). Sitting nicely along the back wall having to watch the kids eat cookies while they had to wait until we got home. They were troopers.

Very excited for free babysitting all day tomorrow along with a movie and dinner and kids spending the night at my sister in law's house! Not so much excited about the swim suit shopping I will do, but hoping I can picture (with much imagination) a super model laying out on the beach as I look into the mirror!!!

Valentine's Day Craziness

I was reminded Tuesday that I signed up to bring a sweet treat at Zane's Sonshine School party on Thursday. So Wednesday I had to quickly make some sugar cookies. I gave the kids half a cookie and let them decorate it. Austen had his eaten before I got the icing out...

I then had Zane write his name on his valentine's cards. He would do a couple good ones, then would start writing random letters all over the place, and the last few were just illegible... But he sure looked cute writing them!I made heart shaped crayons instead of buying candy. I feel our candy jar is always full and the stuff at the bottom is probably two years old. Thought I would change it up a bit this year. I had to add a little white trash to them with the duct tape. I couldn't find any clear tape and frankly was too tired to look. They just would be ours if they were perfect...
Here is the iced final product of my really dirty flour filled melted crayon smelling kitchen. I now remember why I never bake.

Keeping busy!

Last weekend, I tried a skirt from scratch during the bad ice storm and I loved it. Instead of a ruffle on the skirt, I put one on the shirt!Here is a close up of it. I don't have pinking shears so its not as fancy. Not sure I love it (especially the top), but it's different!Zane got jealous and wanted a photo shoot as well. BTW, wearing jammies all day is so last week. He has moved on to spiderman. Every. Day. That poor outfit is not going to last much longer...Such awesome modeling potential I also made a necklace while being trapped in the house. I totally stole the idea but it was worth it! I ordered little orange ribbon charms (20 to be exact) off ebay, so if you want one let me know!!

Now for something that occurred this week. We went to the open house/book fair at Avery's school Thursday. Would you believe I went there telling myself I wouldn't buy any books! (The blue fly guy book is old but is the reason Zane wanted the silver fly guy book. It also serves the purpose of evening out the amount of books the kids are pictured with!)

OR staff (as if they read my blog)- please serve water and not just pop at your next very yummy but very high sodium chilli dinner!!

Avery was not excited about holding it saying it's too cold...but Zane broke the tip off because he liked playing with it so much.PS. These are terrible pictures as we have still not replaced our broken camera...

Avery was given two packs of gum at church on Wednesday. She was told to share and give one pack to someone else. I asked her who she wanted to give one too and she said..."I already gave one to Callon and he gave me one to me so we already shared. I can have them both." I think she missed the point!
