Randomness from the past month

Z-man has been running his mouth a lot lately. There are some cute things such as...
Z: "Hey mommy, is this so surprising?!"
Me: What?
Z: "Look"....(shows me a scratch on his elbow that he got from the school playground!)
It was so cute the way he asked if it was so surprising!
But then there has been a lot of...
Z: "I wish I don't have a mommy or a daddy" (after saying no to something!)
and...
Z: "You never let me do anything"
Me: "Oh, ok. Well since I don't let you do anything, when we get home you will just go straight to your bed.
Z: "We haven't even eaten yet...."
Me: "I don't let you eat. I don't let you play outside. I don't let you watch cartoons. I don't let you play on the computer....remember I don't let you do anything. So...I guess you will just sit on your bed all day and do nothing."
Z: "OK. I changed my mind...you let me do things..."
HAHA
We got enjoy yummy sno cones at Avery's school. Avery's school had a coloring contest which she entered in. I probably should have read the fine print. I have no idea when they decide the winner.
I came into my room one day and noticed this little masterpiece Avery made. I see one of the big gold beads rolled away, but I was impressed it's actually wearable! I think I will string it up and give it to her!
I missed out on putting enormously oversized flowers on Avery's head, so that was about the first thing I did with my newest little Tur-Bus addition. Speaking of, I'm really feeling like a tour bus this year. I drop off kids at 9 and 9:30 and then pick up kids at 11, 11:30, 2:30, and 4!
Avery went to a birthday party at dynamo gymnastics and it was pretty fun. However, I was VERY sad they said adults were not allowed to tumble on the floor or get on the equipment. I kind of thought I was going to be able to fulfill my dream of being able to do gymnastics again...maybe one day...

I think I'm in cleaning/organizing mode today. Hopefully progress will be made. Especially since we don't have to get in and out of the car 100 times.
Is it OK to drink Emergen-c everyday? Because I have been. Is there such thing as too much vitamin C!?!
Out.

What's worse?

The fact that I was NOT exaggerating when I spoke of cat hairballs in the last post.....or the fact that they are STILL there after I took this picture? I'm a little scared of them and they are out of the way, so I don't have to tackle them quite yet...Here is what my kitchen looked like before all the boxes, junk, taco bell cups, sonic cups, on cue cups, and lowe's bags...The seller didn't need the table or bar stools anymore, so we got them! They did an awesome job updating this room. The only critique I have, is that it is all very tan, brown, and depressing, but the storage and bar area make me smile!

Here is what moving day looked like...
Ryan did not want his picture taken. I wonder if it was because he thought it may end up on my blog?
Here is my Grandma (mom's mom). She came with my mom and helped clean the kitchen! She specifically told me "that picture better not end up on facebook." I will respect her wishes...
Brant pretty much just did this all day long... ;)
Enjoying pizza after calling it a day Wed. at around 6:30pm. Wes was exhausted. We had another load Thursday morning along with 2 trailer loads on Friday...Have I mentioned I am NOT doing this again?! We very much appreciated all the help we had. I can't imagine moving to a place where we didn't know anyone and had no help. We are very blessed and love our church friends.
It's now been 13 days since moving in. I think the mess just keeps getting bigger? At least the playground is done! Hopefully it will be a great entertainer for several years...Thanks to Robert Carpenter and his buddies who did a great job putting it together!

Hopefully by the end of November, I will be able to post pictures of the kids rooms.

Well...

We are moved in, but nowhere near "settled in." Tomorrow it will have been a week. Please tell me it's normal to have only opened about 1/10 of the boxes with most rooms still looking like this...and that it is completely understandable for there to still be junk and trash everywhere...
If you got everything done in three days, I don't want to hear about it!
Oh, and just fyi. When a house is listed as an "As is" home, it means "I've never been dusted, had my air filters changed, never had my vents cleaned, and have never been swept, thus cat hairballs are everywhere." I love the house though! They made great updates before they sadly had to sell quickly before it went into foreclosure.
Hopefully this new little babysitter (that should be ready in a couple of days) will help us get unpacked a little quicker...

OKC FAIR!!

My sister and her boyfriend ROCK! They actually like taking my kids out to do things and the kids LOVE them! They took them out for frozen yogurt and park time a couple weeks ago...
and then last week they took them to the fair while Wes and I picked out carpet!

Is it me, or do these things look creepy!? They do in the original size picture anyway. I thought they were real...
They look so focused? Could it be an awesome mullet they see?
Their winnings...
Thank you Britt and Brant!!!

Random Thoughts Thursday

It's been a crazy couple of weeks...
space
Wes is taking his strong quarterly ATRA chemo pills right now and they are killers. He nearly "died" after watching the kid's soccer games last weekend when I was out of town (the medicine says stay out of the sun!), and he has to force himself out of bed at 8:00. This morning it was 8:20 (he's usually AT work at 8). Mix in trying to pack...and well...it makes for a slow process! He will be done taking the pills when we close on the 30th. Hopefully it will flush out of his system fast so we can paint, unload, etc.

The Tur-Bus had an interesting case of "oops a rock from my shoe accidentally got in my ear and it's stuck..." It was very close to the "I accidentally put a pea in my nose..." that occurred months ago, but the pea was able to be blown out, and the rock had to have a doctors help! Haha...
Those same two little sillies mentioned above came in today and said "Yay...it's our last Kayla Day this week!!" Hey now...you shouldn't be THAT excited... :(
space
When getting in my car the other day Zane said..."Mommy, God isn't very happy at you...your car is a big mess and you are supposed to take care of what God gives you." A few days later I see Zane washing his bike and I ask him what he's doing. He says "Washing my bike so it will make God happy..." I see Wes has brainwashed him already! Too bad Zane doesn't realize HE'S the one that messes up my car...

We were having the kids clean there rooms and pack up some of their toys. Zane was excited, but Avery asked "How much can I pay you for you to clean my room instead?" Unfortunately...she got this from me.....
space
Then Zane piped in and said "I don't care about cleaning my room...I just care about God." HAHAHA. While that is so sweet...it also called for a "calm down with the brainwashing Wes..." :) space
I'm not sure where this came from. Probably the girls my poor Zane has to play with everyday!! But he's been saying "See look Avery, I officially love this..." "Officially" is the new "totally" and I'm so glad Zane has that figured out!

Tur's Favorite Things...

We've packed up Zane's toys and books. The only thing left out was the Leapster and Tag. I always knew they won rewards after reading and playing the games, but I was too lazy to plug it into the computer and mess with it. We did it one day and Zane got SOOO excited. He now wants to play all the time to win more rewards. Great educational toys! Here is one of the print out rewards...a coloring sheet. He can't color without sticking his tongue out! When I went to Honduras, my little sister took Avery to see Shannon Miller. She has no idea who this girl is, but for some reason I wanted her to get a picture with her. Gotta love kids getting along...puzzles are my favorite because they take a while! We loved unpluggits this summer and will miss it (for a while). This is one of Avery's old gymnastics friends...So I wasn't kidding about Avery's insane collection of silly bands and the fact she remembers where each one came from...here is proof. I think this was when she had 90...she now says she has 130?? The past week, Avery and the neighbor girls have gotten together with their collections to play with and trade...Have I mentioned I have never bought her any!?!

My last favorite thing, is seeing my kids conquer their fears and gain confidence. In reading, sports, and anything else. We haven't been in gymnastics the last few months, so yesterday we decided to practice a little. Avery got over her fear, and can do a back bend now without me close to her! She now LOVES doing them and is so excited to show everyone. My chip was full so it cut off, but oh well.

We've Hit A Milestone...

A few days ago, we decided to try and teach Avery how to ride a bike with no training wheels. It was not real successful. I don't know if she feels too much pressure when we ask her to try something, but she gets so flustered and frustrated (like with reading). It was fussiness the whole five minutes. I was convinced we'd just wait another year...

Yesterday, she was playing outside with a neighbor a couple of years older than her and she comes in and says "I know how to ride a bike now!" I guess she does much better with 8 year old instructions. She felt no pressure, she was able to keep her cool and just keep trying again. Each time she gained a little more confidence which gave her the drive to continue. I then came out and helped her a little more, and she mastered it. She can now even start off by herself. She loves it and wants to ride her bike all day long now. If the girl would just stay calm and have a little confidence, she could do anything she wants to do.
