SNOW DAYS!!!

It's been an interesting week of no school. I got offered a job out of the blue and made 6-8 phone calls- each about 40 mins long. Good thing Wes stayed home Tues and Wed so he could actually parent the kids! I'll talk more about this later...

While not on the phone, this is what we did...
SNOW ICE CREAM!!! The kids have had this before and liked it, but for some reason were not fans this year. This picture was obviously taken before they tried it! Avery was worried about it coming from outside and thought she was eating sand. Zane just said it was disgusting and he hated it! Maybe vanilla from Mexico tastes weird to little kids? Second go round I put less vanilla and made sure the sugar dissolved in the milk before mixing it into the snow. It was eaten up much better by 4 out of 6 kids (One being an baby and Zane still not being a fan and asking for me to mix it with "real ice cream from our freezer!")

SNOWBALL FIGHTS!!!
or lack there of...
Pretty deep in some areas!!
(This snowball also turned into powder after leaving her hand!)
Avery couldn't find her coat and apparently snow made its way into her back...Haha
After taking this picture she said "I HATE snow. I'm never coming out here again. It's SO boring and I hate it JUST HATE IT..."
JAMMIE MOVIE DAY!!!
When I watch kids and there is no school, this is what we do. Although, Movie Day means 2 movies in 9 hours. Not too terrible...right?!
Of course we also play several games, color, cut, glue, fight, fuss, eat, fight, cry, and laugh.
and apparently we also wear crazy accessories in our hair....
and enjoy hot chocolate!
Lastly we
GO STIR CRAZY!!!
(All bathrooms have name tags and toothpaste smudged all over the mirror along with scissors and duct tape on the counter...right?...or just ours??)
Stir crazy always includes my camera being stolen. These beauties are courtesy of Avery Photography...Since the kids took a picture of this, I can say thank you Gpa Jerry and Granola for the Xmas money. This is the book Zane bought himself. Not pictured, but also bought with the money was a KungZhu car, Fancy Nancy sticker book and more Barbie clothes!

And we were hit...

Saturday, our little monkey was his normal crazy self...
The lovely "look I cut my bangs, daddy will be so happy with me" picture... The "I like stealing mommy's camera" picture...
But then it turned to the Sunday morning "Lay by a trashcan and watch netflix all day" picture...
(We are trying out a free month of netflix. We choose on the computer and it instantly comes to our TV. It may be a keeper!)
What does a mommy do when they have a sick kid?
Let the TV babysit them and pull out the crafts, of course!!

I made a little 2 year old a tutu...
and a matching funky headband. Not sure what I think about it...
But just in case I liked the above headband, I decided to throw one together for Avery... I started this purse last Saturday at a friend's house during a craft morning of sewing and crocheting. I finished it up this weekend...and Love it!
Even though I enjoyed some days of craftiness, hopefully this sickness passes quickly! Friday it was Avery with a low grade fever and now it's Zane. Don't they know I need to be at Body and Soul classes on Monday and Fridays?!?

The Skins

Can I first just state how much I love 70 degree weather in January!!!

Zane's cousin Levi who is 8 came over today and they were so funny to watch. I love how Levi let Zane "tackle him" and win some of the matches too, although I didn't get a picture of that...
I was very impressed with how he well he entertained a 4 year old! He would be very careful when body slamming him into our couch.
It did get a little difficult figuring out what they could do together...
L: I like scary movies, can we watch one?
Z: Well, I don't like scary movies but I guess we could watch The Grinch...
L: I want to see Piranha or Paranormal Activity!
Z: Oh, what about Cat in the Hat!!?
haha

I then remembered baseball!!

Great day. Great cousin.

At 9:30pm Zane asked if it could be bedtime! haha. He was out in 5. Now...how to entertain an 8 year old with no playstation, wii, or even DS??! I'll figure it out!

I need another baby girl...

I sadly was not crafty when Avery was a baby. I had sooo much fun making this! Avery was very excited thinking it was actually for her bear...I guess I'll be making another! I then found a perfect matching onesie!! I can't wait to see miss Curryn in it! The hooded towel I made matches her nursery which is very gender neutral. I wanted to sew red ric-rac around the orange to make it a little more girlie, but I ran out of time. Now on to something almost as adorable. The fashionable combination Zane put together today...it was actually hot enough so we did indeed go to target like this! The blue jacket that was a size too small really topped it off!

I Can See the Light...

It has now been 2 years since Wes's diagnosis of Leukemia. He only has 5 more months of treatments left and I'm so excited for it to be over!!! Not having a million copay's a year will be nice, but seeing him with more energy, less headaches, and less stomach issues will be even better. Praise God!

Now for random pics of the past week...

Avery's Dear Santa letter was in the newspaper on Dec. 18th. I didn't even know until this past Friday when a little boy told her he saw it! I like the random question at the end! For X-mas, my parents got me this beauty. Swiffer doesn't work with slate tile since it's not a smooth surface. I researched soooooooo many steam mops and I thought this sounded like the winner. You don't use any soaps or chemicals. It heats up water over 200 degrees which is hot enough to kill anything and it cuts through stuck on food easily. Love it! I will say its kinda nasty to see just how much dirt is not picked up by a swiffer...
Lately, Avery wants to play in make up every single day. Her poor innocent victims. My camera makes them look fab but I assure you, there was lovely hot pink eyeshadow all over the eyes and super rosy cheeks!
Saturday evening, Avery and I met up with a couple of people at Full Circle book store to enjoy some gelato... and a little show in which these two girls got to help play percussion! I tried numerous times to upload the video of this, but it wasn't working. :(
I took Zane to see Gulliver's Travels (Tinseltown) Monday at 11 and we were the only one's there! I'm worried they will be going bankrupt soon or something, so I bought a stupid $5 drink even though I smuggled one in...
I would have rather seen Yogi Bear but Zane insisted on seeing this one. He would quote the previews that said, "You got me in a diaper and a dress. I'm NOT doing tea time with you...[little girl scares him into submission] tea time for two!!" and thought it was just hilarious! Sadly, towards the end, he said he was getting a little bored! haha.

Bringing in the New Year Beyonce style...

Backing up to Thursday night, Avery had a friend stay the night. She was a very sweet girl and they seemed to have a lot of fun making necklaces, and putting on make up, perfume, and hair junk.
Austen also stayed the night with Zane while Amy and I watched a movie. Austen could literally stay up forever. He didn't (thus Zane didn't) fall asleep until midnight. Amy and I crashed around 1:15am.

Friday morning was all about being lazy. We went to breakfast at IHOP around 11:00! After dropping off Avery's friend that afternoon, I got a call that Wes was offered Thunder tickets for the New Years Eve game!

Here we are on the fifth row chillin in $250 seats (right in front of Kevin Ogle). I cannot imagine spending this times 4 for our family to see a game. So glad they were free!
We had a GREAT time! When the Thunder Girls came out, Zane buried his head in shyness. I'm not sure if he thought those pretty girls could see him or if he was mortified at how little they wear. Either way, it was adorable!
Our kids totally dress themselves most of the time. I knew this night was going to be freezing so I just told them they needed to be warm. We walked out the door without noticing this...
as well as forgetting to wash this out of hair and off ear...
We are totally cool with showing off our hoodlems as we try and catch flying objects
Wes caught us a free Little Ceaser's Large pizza frisbee for us!
Now for Beyonce...Avery tried winning the Dancing for Dinner at Applebee's! She was very bummed the camera man never noticed her. In case one video isn't enough...here is two. I am not sure where she got these moves??!
Two long nights and no naps meant two VERY tired kids after the game!
I took a pic of Avery because it cracks me up at how much stuff she sleeps with. I will find barbies and cups under her blanket. That can't be comfortable?!? I'm still trying to recover from staying up late so many nights last week. I just can't handle it like I could in college...

Our New House

I have not been good at taking pictures, especially since there are little projects that still need to be done in every room. However, my grandma wanted to see pictures...so here are some!

Here is the before picture of the formal dining room...
Here is the after... It's Wes's office! We still need to get some art work and decor to bring in more of the blue colors.
Our living room had practically NO LIGHTING. It was so dark and depressing. Wes and our electrician friend, Larry, tackled that problem!
Here is the living room. We still haven't painted or bought curtains, so it's pretty colorless and dull! At least now we can see when playing games in here!
Here is the awesome master bath before picture. I don't want to take an updated pic until I do the cabinets! We did get rid of the huge bathtub plant and had DJ lay tile. We also have painted it the color of our bedroom.
Before master shower
After master shower. Dj did all the tile and Wes installed the shower door! Before Master Bed After picture of the Master Bed.
We still need curtains in here as well. Finding curtains have been the most overwhelming thing for me. I just can't decide. This paint color is the same as our old kitchen. It's called vintage gray but looks blue!
Our New House part 2 will probably be next month!
