Finally got a camera!!!

Our nice cannon camera broke back in December after we dropped it from a high shelf trying to take a timed picture. Our crappy extra camera broke during Spring Break but not sure how. Maybe sand got in it? Anyway, our nice one had a warranty that wasn't up so we were able to get a new one. Power Shot SX200 IS. Pretty fun and pretty easy. I am finally able to record Zane singing his songs from school! He has been singing them for over a month now. So cute...

This one he gets a little camera flustered and I see he skipped the word "this" which he usually doesn't, but you get the idea. I remember the day he came home and said "I learned Spanish today!" I said "Oh, really? Let me hear" and he continues with this...

He was teaching daddy last night... "You make a C and put it in your hand and bring it down like this....thats commandment!
For some reason, this is my favorite thing to do with the camera. Take a black and white photo with an accent color. These are Wes's determination M&M's from his hospital stay.

Enjoy your Day today!!

Random Pictures

Here is one from a while ago. Our church had another Family Movie Night where we watched Toy Story and got our picture taken with the real Buzz Lightyear. What a handsome fellow he is!Here is our pictures from Bass Pro Shop's Easter bunny. No lines, fun foam easter egg craft, and a cute FREE picture as opposed to a $12 picture!!
The other night, I saw Avery wasn't in her bed. She was in Zane's and they were holding hands!! How precious!!That reminds me of a convo I had with Zane...

Z- I'm going to marry Avery.
Me- Are you sure about that?
Z- Well yea, she's a girl... (with the "Duh, mom" tone and expression!)
Me- I don't think you can marry her. Do you know why Avery?
A- The bible says you can't marry your brother or sister. (We have never talked about this before so this is just from what she has picked up!)
Z- Well if I can't marry Avery, I will marry mommy and if daddy won't let me marry mommy I just won't have anyone to marry...(chin resting on hand as if he has been defeated)
Me- There is always Addy Allie or Sydnee!?!
Z- I guess so...(chin still rested!)

This weekend we went to my Arkansas for my sisters baby shower Avery is very excited and thinks its not fair that I don't have another one...If only she knew I wanted the doctors to cut her out of me after just 8 weeks along!!! And only after 4 weeks with Zane...
Now for some recent sewing sewing projects...gotta have lots of new accessories to go with a new dress!!
A little too wide but I made it when she was at school. Love the buttons though!
Another version of the bandana dress with a bow that I'm not sure matches, but was the only one I could find at the moment. Our two black clips were MIA.

Lastly, I've been making several flower clips lately. Perfect for spring! I sell these particular flower clips for just $3, but in case you want to make them yourself, I will show you how. Very easy. Take the stem off as well as the plastic thing at the bottom. I prefer the flower clips to be flat. I couldn't find our black felt when I made this for a neighbor girf, but it doesn't matter because you don't see it. Hot glue felt circle and then glue in between each layer of the flower (since the stem is no longer holding it together). Then glue an alligator clip to it and I add a "soft rubber mesh cabinet drawer liner" to the bottom so it really grips the hair or crocheted hat and doesn't fall out. Easy and quick! Here are some of the colors you can choose from. I like adding a big sparkle to the top! $3 if you want one...

Little Behind...

Story of my life lately! Every weekend has been crazy and the weekends are the only time I am able to get stuff done. Nothing. Gets. Done. Anymore!! Friday was fun though. M had a soccer game in town, so we went and watched her play. Yes, that is Zane drinking a frozen mocha. Then, Wes and I went on a couples retreat with our church class and Brittany kept the kids and ran them all over town on Saturday. First stop was to soccer. Avery looks so excited...
Not sure of the convo here...funny I didn't see a ball in any of the pictures!
Z's turn! Yay...there is a ball!!

Then she took them to a birthday party, then babysitting up at the church, then they went to spend the night with Amy!!
Wes and I came back Sunday afternoon in time to quickly throw everything from the living room, kitchen, and hall bathroom into my room and have several people come over for a small group bible study. I am not sure I have recovered yet! Haven't unpacked yet but will have too soon so I can repack for this coming weekend...

Gymnastics Switch Up

Goodbye Star Gymnastics, Hello Metro
(short version, read only bold!)
We have really liked Star gymnastics since we started last October. They had been open only a year so everything was new and pretty! Coach Tabitha was great and Avery loved her. I loved how it wasn't crowded and the student to teacher ratio was 5 to 1 and sometimes only 3 to 1!! They had 3 or 4 little meets/programs for the kids to show us what they can do (even the preschool classes). The coaches knew all of the kids and thier parents and it felt like a family. Love Love Loved it. 3 months later, Tabitha moved to Texas. What was she thinking!!???
lkjkls
New coach named C came. Avery would come out during breaks asking if it was almost time to be done. She would say the coach told her she doesn't have good handstands or backbends. I just figured she wasn't used to the new coach yet. AfteBoldr 2 times though, she would cry not wanting to go to gym. I found out other girls were doing the same thing. Faking their tummy hurt, etc. I called the manager of the gym to see what was going on. I was told C was fired already! Good, don't have to worry about it!
lkjk
The manager Miss S started coaching her class. Avery liked her, but she was still not excited about it. I think the bad experience just left her not trusting that gym? I dunno. Plus changing of coaches so much probably doesn't help. In 4 months, she has had 3 different coaches and I think some subs in between those change ups. Miss S was great though. Avery was starting to get back to being excited about it and especially loved the gymnastics meet that was the end of February. Then. Miss S got taken away by Gold's Gymnastics. Suck. Suck. Suck.
lkjlk
However, Gold's gym owner told her those of us who wanted to follow her could and he would honor our tuition. Ok, we can do that. I mistakenly asked Avery if she wanted to try a new gym. She was very excited since she no longer trusted Star!!! The next week, we call to get her in and I guess he changed his mind. Not only was he not going to honor our tuition, but he told us if you wanted Miss S as the coach, you had to practice 2 times a week and pay $130 a month. What? He went on to say, yea, we really like the number of girls we have in level 3 right now so we would only want to add more if they are really serious. Geez. Awesome friendly customer service. I guess they have enough sardines squished in the gym, they don't care about getting more?? (Bitter? Yes! I have had two out of two not so good experiences with them now and I'm actually not hard to please at all!!)
lkjlk
We stick with Star, even though Avery was devasted about me "lying" when I told her we would go to a new gym. I bribed her to try it one more time. New coach M. Oh coach M...not much fun, more serious, and loves conditioning. Better for 7 year olds and not so much 4 and 5 year olds (in my opinion). I wasn't impressed. Didn't matter because she decided to get engaged and move to Ohio after 2 weeks! Seriously? If that was an option, why did you take the job in the first place???
lkjl
Avery was completely no longer interested in gymnastics. Avery said she hated gymnastics. She reminded me I told her only one more try. It failed. She used to love gymnastics and she does it all the time in our living room. I asked her if she would like to try Metro again. It would be more difficult with it being at 4 instead of 5, it being further away and babysitting several kids, but I would find a way if she wanted to try it again.
lkjl
This past Tuesday she went and it was a little scary she said (because they were practicing their routines for Medals in May coming up and she didn't know them yet)! She did like it however and is excited to get to catch a ride with a friend over there and once the kids wake up, I can go over there to watch her. The waiting room drives me crazy since I can't see her when she's on beam, but oh well. It's cheaper than all the other gyms, so I can't complain I guess! She tells me what they do anyway. At least their staff has always been exceptional and they have extra staff so they can go the extra mile of holding a scared or hurt child and encourage them and get them excited by giving lots of high fives and smiles.
lkjlk
So, here's to Metro once again...

Easter part 2.

My parents came over for Easter this year. They got here Saturday afternoon and it was so nice outside... Like daddy, like daughter.Zane was testing out an activity Brittany made as part of a lesson plan. Match Uppercase with Lower case, look at the back and if the stickers match...you were correct! Zane thought it was pretty neat and exciting everytime he got a match!! Lower case i j and l were a little tricky for him. We'll have to borrow this game from her!
Then it was time to decorate eggs. I had forgotten until it was pretty late so we just did one each! I wanted to change it up a bit so we did mod podge and tissue paper!
After church picture
While we were at church, the Easter bunny hid eggs for the kids to find!
Brittany's camera is kinda crazy and makes our kids look like glowing angels!

Their stash!
Now my entire house is a mess again......

Egg Hunts!

We were invited to a friend's egg hunt this year and we had a great time. Avery was so excited when I told her we would see her fellow gymnast friend, K. They were so cute together and had a lot of fun... Aunt Brittany came to help out too!
They had the cutest Easter bunny ever!
Here are the 3-4 year olds. They had little toys and suckers on the ground too!Next was the 5-6 year olds. There weren't too many hiding places for the younger ages (except along the fence and tree) but I liked how it wasn't crowded!
They made out pretty well! This was after they emptied out their eggs and so it's just the candy! They also had yellow pieces of paper in some of the eggs which meant you got to pick out a prize! Avery didn't get any, but Zane got 3 so he shared one!
Playing catch with the Easter bunny!
Then we went to OC's thinking we could jump on the bouncy toys, but they were taking them down right when we got up to them :( I can't believe there's didn't even last an hour. Anyway, they by far had the craziest looking bunny...
After lunch, we went to UCO's...
They had a carnival which was fun...

They called the 0-3 age group and we went down there when they said it will start in 1 minute. Bad idea. You need to get there ahead of time and make sure you are in the front line. Every kid had there parents with them more than doubling the amount of kids, making it completely packed and impossible for people not in the front row to get any eggs. Poor Zane did not get a single egg. There were SEVERAL kids that didn't. Poor boy started crying! Thankfully someone else quickly put one on the ground in which I said "Hey there is one, quick get it!" He was still a little upset...

We let him decorate a cookie since he didn't get many eggs! It's a very good thing we had gone to a good egg hunt earlier!
Avery went with the 6 and 7 age group so she could be with Bella. They made the rule of no parents on the grass which made it MUCH better...
These are the two sassy girls. They just feed off each other and it is definitely a love hate relationship! It changes every 5 minutes!
Pretty tiring Day but very fun and all in all a success!

Soccer Switch Up

Zane started Spring soccer season on this team...He liked it, but I didn't think to ask ahead of time what day practice would be on. It happened to be on Tuesday and Avery's was on Thursday. With gymnastics and church functions, we never had a free evening. Avery would whine how we never had time to make books and play games. I agreed.
Then there was these two rugrats... They did soccer and blast ball together last year and would talk some but would still play some too. This season, they just wrestled and talked the ENTIRE time. We couldn't even get them to participate AT ALL this season. They sure are cute though!!
Because of these two reason's, we switched to a different team last Saturday and it went great. Zane loved playing and he ran around the whole time following the crowd. Still not much contact with the ball, but at least he wasn't on the opposite end wrestling his cousin. We enjoyed staying home this past Tuesday! Pictures of the new team soon!
